not to mention a few other surprise goodies too!
I am in no way finished with summer ladies! I fully intend to enjoy the last couple of weeks this summer has to offer. I still have homemade ice cream to make, the ocean to visit, crabbing to do, fireflies to catch, a couple of picnics to have, and a few more summertime posts. By no means am I trying to rush things along here because I'm still smelling the roses!
I did, however, want to post this giveaway now so I could run it throughout the month of August. Anyone who would like to enter the drawing has several weeks to do so. This way, who ever wins will have it in time for their fall decorating.

If you would like to post about this giveaway on your blog, I will double your entry in the drawing. Furthermore, if you put a picture and a link I will quadruple your chances.

I love all the things about Fall. I love the Fall festivals, the Fall carnivals, going to pumpkins patch and riding hayrides. I love to take the family to the apple orchard to pick apples. Also I love the crispy breeze in the air where its not to cool, but a nice warm wrap that keeps the chill out. I just love everything about this season, I love decorating with pumpkin spice candles and fall leaves. I love getting prepare for Thanksgiving with family... My favorite part of the autumn season is the excitement that surrounds harvest time. We live in a crop farm area....and it's always fun to see the old farm trucks come out, waiting for the combine to spill grain into it to be hauled to the silo...we see the farmer's wife running meals out to the field and the trips back and forth to get it all done before the snow flies! That is only ONE thing about fall that I love...there are so many! Love that sign! (Well actually, love ALL your signs!) I will be posting in my sidebar about your giveaway...I'm having one, too!

My fav's about fall are the coolness of the mornings and how it still warms nicely in the afternoon along with the changing colors of the leaves. We have to drive through a river canyon everyday to work and I just love watching the colors change from just barely to very vibrant reds, orange and yellow and all shades in between. Of course, I love the shore in the summer...But Fall is my all time favorite. I love the changing leaves and hot apple cider, decorating for fall and falling leaves and the tang in the air. Mmmmm.

ReplyDeleteI love every season, but I do enjoy the fall. We have an adorable little place on our farm that is a shed. The roof came off with the high winds. Anyway I have fixed it up and will show it off on my blog in a month or so. We have lots of rustic dinner parties. Table and old church benches open air and Christmas tree lights all around the little place. It is sooooo fun to have. I have a big pumpkin batch and I am picking them now to fix up for Harvest Thyme. We are thinking of inviting people on the farm. You can come!!!

ReplyDeleteWell, having lived in Maine for seven years, you can imagine the New England autumns are spectacular! We always went apple picking at a local farm, each child picked out a pumpkin, then we would head into their bakery and have some yummy pastries. The air was crisp, the colors were bright, and we would come home with $50 worth of apples and pumpkins. We would eat, bake, and can. And for weeks, we would find apple cores in the strangest places...:-) We have just recently moved to Florida and so we will see what our first fall here will be like.

Burning leaves on a windless day and watching the little swirls of smoke wind their way upward...
The way the blue of the sky changes just a little bit and the sun is lower in the northern sky and the clouds become wispier...
The smell of Mama's soups from the kitchen, and chicken and dumplings. There are just some things that are not for hot weather...
The way my dogs' fur starts getting thicker with the cool air and seeing their breath outside...
And sitting outside around a fire wrapped in a fuzzy blanket, drinking hot cocoa and visiting with loved ones...

ReplyDeleteFall is my favorite season of all. I love the smell of the leaves turning. Our favorite thing to do in fall is going to our local family ochard in IN. They have pumkin picking & apple picking. We go every year to let the kids pick their pumkins and go on a hay ride. Even the tweens still love to go. We also love camping in the fall. Nothing better then sleeping in a tent under the stars in the cool night air. Ahhhh, I so love fall!!!!!

My favorite time of the year is Fall. I love the colors of orange and browns. I love this season because it is wonderfully "homey" to decorate, without all the financials of giving gifts like Christmas. For me it is stress free, kids are in school, and are not bored yet, just sit back and watch the changing of trees and leaves, can you tell I live in Upstate New York?

What I love most about Fall is the smells - woodsmoke on a cool evening, the smell of moist earth as we rake the leaves into piles, the smell of popcorn at the football game as the home team boosters strive to make money for uniforms. I love the smell of a pumpkin as you scoop the seeds out with a wooden spoon to carve a Jack-O-Lantern, and the smell of a fresh apple as you bite into it. I love the smell of hay as you sit on a wagon for a hayride and the bitter smell of black walnuts as we gather them in a basket for drying and cracking over the winter. I love the spicy smell of mums as I cut some for a Fall bouquet. I love to open my windows in the Fall and smell pine trees in the wind. Spring used to be my favorite season but now it is Fall

I must admit that my favorite part of Autumn is celebrating my wedding anniversary with my Hubby. We both have lived in Upstate NY our whole lives and absolutly ADORE Fall. When we were picking our wedding date, we both agreed it would HAVE to be an Autumn wedding. We looked at the calendar together, and noticed that the first day of Fall in 2007 happened to be on a Saturday! We looked at each other with lil' kid smiles and said "that's perfect!" We had a Fall Harvest wedding and I still get compliments on our wedding almost 3 years later! I look foward to the first day of Fall every year :) What's great too is that we have so many great decorations from the wedding that we decorate our house with every year. It sure does bring back memories! Happy early Fall y'all :)

I thought I had entered this before but I didn't see my post so I'll try again. If I have two posts just delete one. Wish there was an easy way of seeing if I've been here before...anyway. Fall is my favorite season! The vegetable garden is slowly producing a little less; so I'm less stressed about preserving the bounty. I find the most unusual pumpkins we've grown; bundle some corn stalks; gather a few cattails (hopefully without getting wet or falling in!). I hang my autumn kaleidoscope; put up other decorations pertinant to the season. We plan a corn boil and hay ride with the church families...all in all always a great day to see the warm weather out and winter set in....I love fall!

Fall is definitely my favorite time of the year. When I ws growing up I was a miltary kid, my dad was in the US marines (I married a Canadian) and we moved all around the US. We tended to live in warmer-wewather areas like AZ and Hawaii. And those places have a lot of charms, but what they don't have are falls. :) My grandmother used to send us pictures of the fall foilage from NY every year, and now I love living back where we have gorgeous falls. I love the colors, the cool, crisp air that is a relief after long hot, humid August days, the apple cider and pumkins everywhere. I love an excuse to cuddle up under a blanket with a cup of cider and burn some candles and feel all homey and cozey. I love the smell of burning leaves outside and the excitement of kids going back to school (eenthough I don't have any of my own yet! :) )

OMG with all of these entries I probably don't have a chance to win but just found your blog. What a great surprise and I will be visiting again. The sign is perfect for the fall. I think the upcoming season allows us to reflect on the many blessings we receive everyday. Nature and the changing of seasons strengthens my belief in God and all of his miraculous creations. ReplyDeleteI love so many things about fall. The nip in the air, the rich harvest colors, the pantry full of delectibles I have "put up" for the winter, the feeling of calmness after the harvest is complete.

My favorite part of the autumn season is the turning of the leaves, the cool mronings and evenings, the shorter days, the quilts coming out and going on the beds, the scents of baking goodies, fires in fireplaces, hearty stews and soups, squash and pumpkins, etc., I LOVE autumn! ReplyDeleteThis Fall, the people of South Texas would like to see rain and cooler temps. We are entering into our 56th day of 100+ degrees this summer...the horizon is brown from not from Fall coming, from dying trees and grasses, Lord help us and the wildlife living around us. My favorite thing about fall is the brilliant colors when the trees change. We live in the Pacific NW and their are a lot of trees that are so beautiful when they go from green to orange, read and yellow. I, also, enjoy the coziness of home when the days become shorter and cooler.

My favorite thing about Autumn? Hmmm, what's not to like about it? I love everything about it. I'm actually from the north, but live in Texas so I really miss having a real Autumn season. I love the brilliant colors, the smell of the air and the cawing if the crows. I love the cooler weather, open windows and having a fire in the fireplace. I love the pumpkins in the field, the smell of apple cider and cinnamon and comfort food. I love the coziness as the days grow shorter and the excitement of preparing for the upcoming holiday season. As I said, what's not to love? Autumn is my favorite season.

Not too late I see....The sign is great but not for me.....No I would share it a time or two...telling everyone it came from you. I love Autumn leaves that fall on the ground and watch the children play, the air is cool all the day. The fireplaces and homemade soup, fresh picked apples and homemade bread bakeing in the oven. Lots of warm candles scented the air and the colors of nature everywhere!Am a grandma of 8 soon to be 9...so I will take 8 to enter please. I love your blog..cute as can be....
ReplyDeleteOh fall - my mostest favoritest time of year!! I love baking, walking through the crunchy leaves, burning candles, and most especially the golden fields of corn waiting for harvest. I love that I can leave my windows wide open and smell the corn and the leaves - fall has its own aroma. And the colors just can't be beat - all the golds, reds, muted greens, and purples. I would love to be entered in your drawing because, as you can see, I just adore fall.
